Candidates Skills:

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong in Object-Oriented Design and Programming Concepts.
In depth Core Java knowledge (1+ years’ experience)
Should have working knowledge on writing Multi-threaded Applications
Strong in JDBC, Servlets, JSP, JSTL, Understanding of MVC Architecture
Experience in working on UI – JavaScript, CSS, jQuery is preferable
Should have experience in working with one of the Application servers(Preferably Web Logic, Web Sphere)
Should have sound understanding on Relational Databases – Should have experience in working on at least one RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
Strong in SQL - Ability to write, analyze complex queries
Experience in developing applications using IDE like Eclipse
Experience with source code/version control tools like SVN
Experience with Log4J, Ant, JUnit and Spring will add more value

Prefered Skills:

Exposure to Application design and Database modeling
Spring Framework
Tuning performance of application
Understanding of different OS Memory management strategies, heap structure, and Design Patterns.
Ability to grasp concepts quickly
Ability to analyze problems and provide innovative solutions
Experience with a Time & Attendance or Scheduling application is a plus
Cognos Experience is a plus.
